Stacey and Lisa Scarboro began woodworking together in 2000. With no prior experience, they saw woodworking as a hobby that they were both interested in and could enjoy doing together. Stacey enjoys experimenting with functional and artistic pieces, natural-edged bowls, hollow forms, and small turned ornaments. As his passion for woodturning grows, he is always ready to try something new. Lisa found that she enjoyed scroll saw work, small lathe turning and wood embellishing. In the Fall of 2003, they officially began Plane & Simple Woodcrafts. Stacey has attended the Southern States Woodturning Symposiums since 2005 and is a current board member. He is a current member and President for the Low Country Turners, a Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners in Savannah, Georgia. Stacey has studied under Master woodturners Nick Cook and Clay Foster after winning a scholarship to broaden his skills and artistic abilities. Stacey’s work is currently on display at Gallery By the Sea on Tybee Island, Georgia. Lisa’s work can be found at local and regional gift shops. |
